Without correct grammar, we don’t have English so it always has to be an important aspect within an English lesson. When you teach English, it can be easy to forget the essentials but that should never be the case, especially for young children.

Unfortunately today grammar is not taught as a standalone activity and it tends to merely fall under English. Because of this children can begin reading and learning about famous wordsmiths, but they have to always be constantly learning the basics, and regular grammar activities can help children for a strong understanding on the basics of English.

Once a child has the basics they can begin to apply them in his or her own writing and if you’re an English teacher, you should ideally look to teach grammar with enthusiasm through enjoyable activities.
