Obtaining good grades in core educational subjects is extremely important. The group of core subjects include English, Maths and Science. Many employers or indeed further education institutes as for a GCSE pass of a minimum grade C in these subjects to allow you to attend or apply for a position.

These core subjects are important and widely recognised as they assist everyone in day to day living. Maths, English and Science is used in our everyday life and it is essential to have a good understanding of these subjects in order to progress in education or a career. Also these subjects often come in to other education subjects such as science being studied as part of a geography topic. If you are struggling with exams then you should at least concentrate the majority of your efforts on the core subject’s revision. GCSE’s can often be re-sat but check with your college or sixth form / career advisor as if you need to do so, as if you have excelled in the core subjects it may be enough to guarantee you a place.
